I was re-introduced to this little beauty at Venn Street Records in Clapham last week and it reminded me just how good the award winning Goose Island: India Pale Ale really is.

For me it sits perfectly between a Meantime London Pale Ale and the stronger flavour of Brewdog Punk IPA so that it is full of the American style IPA flavour that I love, with hints of fruit but isn’t so full bodied as to make it a speciality rather than a session beer. Interestingly they have also won numerous awards in the English Style India Pale Ale category.

I’m pretty certain that i’ll order a whole case of Goose Island’s India Pale Ale in the future – perhaps for a BBQ – but in the meantime I’ll make sure it is in my regular beer rotation.

“Brewer’s Notes: Our India Pale Ale recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result is a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish.”
