A really yummy red wine off the shelf from Sainsbury’s. Normally Marques de Montino Rioja Reserva is £12 which is ok for its quality but it is currently £6 which makes it an amazing find! It has deep fruity flavours, a vanilla finish and a bite off pepper. It tastes good the minute it hits your tongue and all the way through to the aftertaste.

I wasn’t expecting much as the bottle does not look like a premium wine but I was exceptionally surprised when we finally opened it. I would recommend getting some bottles of Marques de Montino Rioja Reserva in whilst they are half price as it is really lovely and good value.

“A full flavoured wine of great character and depth. A bouquet of herbs, leather and spices bursts from the glass, whilst the rich textured palate offers concentrated ripe cherries, layered with earthiness and spice. The tannins are silky and well balanced resulting in a long elegant finish. Drinking well now, but will develop further in bottle, a fantastic partner to roasted red meats, game and mature hard cheeses.  Marqués de Montino wines are hand crafted in the Rioja region of Spain, using traditional grape varieties, viniculture and winemaking techniques. ” (Sainsbury’s)
