Fantastic beer, great eclectic music, knowledgeable and friendly staff, nice garden and for a time my local. The Ink Rooms is a great little find on Lavender Hill between Clapham Junction and Clapham Common that was previously called The Microbar. Specialising in micro-brewed beers The Ink Rooms has a lot to offer with 70 domestic and imported beers on offer including as mentioned perviously a couple of favourites of mine: Meantime London Pale Ale; Andechs Weissbier Dunkel and Schneider Weisse although with a constantly changing beer menu and some real gems being sourced you will never be disappointed.
Since their refit and rebrand a few years ago The Ink Rooms has developed into one of the best spots in my opinion for a crafty pint. I’ve been going for at least 9 years and being close to my first flat in London and also my office it all worked out rather well. There is now a stronger musical influence than ever before with live bands complementing the owner’s fantastic iPod selection. Add in gorgeous 50s decor and nice open garden space. It can be a bit of a hassle to get there when you pass so many other pubs on your way from the train or tube but believe me it is worth it.
“Ink Rooms, the home of natural born sinners!… Clapham’s most unique venue, offering a mixture of American 50’s chic and modern glamour. The Ink Rooms interior was inspired by American 50’s retro chic and the new breed of bars situated in Brooklyn. Signature design elements include Oak flooring, custom made lighting, handcrafted wallpaper and a collection of vintage rock’n’roll paraphernalia. The Ink Rooms bar features one of London’s finest selections of Domestic and Imported beers (70+), expertly prepared signature cocktails, limited edition spirits and a skilfully crafted wine list. Feeling hungry? We offer award winning Hell Pizza seven days a week up to 10pm.” (www.inkrooms.co.uk)
