Stunning pub on the edge of the beautiful Battersea Park with an amazing selection of beers and in the same chain as another favourite of mine, The Draft House on Northcote Road. We popped in for a quick drink after a walk along the Thames via Battersea Power Station after a great lunch at The Cinnamon Club but ended up not being able to leave until pretty much closing time.

This pub immediately felt better than its partner on Northcote Road. It was a much bigger space that felt for comfortable but which retained all the bits that I had come to love in The Draft House. There are 14 ish beers on draft from Meantime Pale Ale (also Union and Helles) through several tasty lagers, wheat beers, ales and ciders. The decor is great too. In The Westbridge the wallpaper in the toilets is He Man Master Of The Universe and the wall are adorned with the same intriguing posters and pictures.

Being the weekend of the Wandsworth Beer Festival I thought it only prudent to try as many of the ales as possible including Apache Ale and Golden Angel as well as the gorgeous Weihenstephan Weissbier (which claims to be ‘The World’s Oldest Brewery‘ before reverting to type and ordering Meantime Pale Ale and trying Meantime Union which was also lovely as well as tasting most of the beers on taps (thank you friendly staff!).

The fact that the time flew in this pub and at no point did it even pass my mind to check the time or want to leave is testament to the quality of this pub (and the company). Love it. More pubs should be like this. I will be returning for sure even though it is a bit more of a mission to get there and back than other pubs.
